Competitor Watch: AI Bot for Competitor Monitoring
Competitor Watch is a Hermes Agent bot for founders, PMs, marketers and sales leads who need to know when a competitor changes its pricing, product, positioning or hiring pages. You paste a list of URLs, and it tells you only what changed and why it matters.
What does Competitor Watch do?
Competitor Watch keeps a short list of competitors under watch on the public web and compares their pages against the copy it saved last time. It reports only the changes that matter, and every claim carries a source link. It never goes behind a login and never invents a price, quote or date.
Which skills does it use?
- Build the watch list: one row per tracked page, updated when you add or drop a competitor.
- Competitor page diff: finds what changed across the watch list since the last snapshot.
- Weekly competitor brief: what changed, then why it matters, with a link on every line.
- Pricing and packaging comparison: how your plans compare after a competitor changes prices, plans or limits.
Who is Competitor Watch for?
It's for anyone whose plans depend on what rivals do next. It suits small teams that can't spare someone to check competitor sites every week.
- Founders watching a crowded market
- PMs tracking rival launches and changelogs
- Marketers watching positioning shifts
- Sales leads who need current pricing before a call
How do I set up Competitor Watch?
Getting started takes a few steps.
- Paste the URLs of the competitors you want to watch.
- It builds the watch list and saves a baseline snapshot of each page.
- Answer a few quick setup questions (you can skip any), then say yes to the weekly brief and the daily launch check when it offers them.
- Read each brief and act on the changes that matter.
How would I use Competitor Watch?
You start by pasting competitor URLs. The bot builds the watch list and takes a baseline snapshot in the same sitting, so the first diff can run on the next check.
The Monday brief
If you said yes to the weekly routine, every Monday morning it compares each page with the last snapshot. You get a brief that leads with what moved and reports only the changes that matter, with no filler.
The surprise launch
The daily launch check reads changelog, release-note and blog pages each weekday morning. It stays silent until a competitor ships something, then names what shipped and links the page.
The price change
A rival edits its plans page. You ask how your pricing compares now, and the pricing comparison lays out what moved next to your own plans.
What can I ask Competitor Watch?
Here are a few requests and the kind of answer you get back.
You: "Watch these five competitor sites."
Competitor Watch: Builds the watch list, one row per page, and saves a dated baseline snapshot of each.
You: "What changed since last week?"
Competitor Watch: A dated brief: each change on its own line with the page it came from, and a note on why it matters to you.
You: "Who are you tracking right now?"
Competitor Watch: The current watch list, grouped by competitor.
What runs on a schedule, and what does it connect to?
Nothing runs on a schedule unless you say yes: after setup it offers each routine once, and they run in your time zone. It drafts by default and never posts, sends or publishes without your yes.
- Weekly competitor brief: Monday mornings, every page diffed against the last snapshot.
- Daily launch check: weekday mornings, speaks up only when a competitor ships.
It can post the brief to a Slack channel you choose and keep the watch list and briefs in Notion. With the optional Linear add-on, installed after the bot, it turns a competitor move from your brief into a Linear issue in your backlog, with the source link on it. It uses your own Linear API key and never creates an issue without asking.
