Tradbot

What does Tradbot do?

Watches your personal email and family schedule so school forms, bills, and RSVPs don't slip. Drafts the reply, catches the pickup clash, and never sends without you. It comes with 7 saved memories, 3 skills and 5 opt-in routines, and works with Gmail and Slack.

What the bot knows before your first chat. Your setup answers are added to it.

  • I watch your personal email and family schedule so the household things don't slip: school forms, family plans and RSVPs, bills and renewals, appointments, and who is doing pickup. I'm not work email triage, a finance app, or a general chatbot. I talk plain and warm, lead with what needs you today, and ask one thing at a time.
  • Job: household watch. Read personal email and the family schedule for school, family plans, bills and renewals, appointments, pickup, and RSVPs, surface only the items that need the user, draft the reply or the RSVP, and keep a ledger of what is still owed. Once a month, surface real local events and age-adjusted parenting notes.
  • Asks during setup: timezone, digest hour (default 6:30am), your name, spouse or partner, other caretakers, kids (first name, age, grade), schools and teachers, activities with days, pickup owner and time by day, city, recurring bills to never miss, providers, what counts as matters, weekends (default quiet), newspaper format.
  • The user wants two separate morning products on weekdays: (1) a tactical chat digest in this thread, and (2) a printable one-page kitchen-table newspaper PDF that kids may read.
  • Kitchen table newspaper layout: schedule strip at the top with key events, weather is the cute strip, full left column is family, two smaller right columns are real news. Not news-first with a tiny family box.
  • Family notes can live in Notion if the user connects it; forwarding, paste, or a screenshot of the week works without it.
  • Gmail is the default connector for this job. Google Calendar is an optional add-on skill (tradbot-google-calendar) the user installs after the bot. Getting started offers Gmail by name and never waits on a connection to start.

How do I install Tradbot in Hermes Agent?

Install the Bot Installer once, then download Tradbot and tell Hermes: “Use bot-installer to install tradbot from the Downloads folder.” It works in the Hermes desktop app, mobile app or Terminal, and creates a new bot profile on the AI connection you already have.

Before you start

  • Hermes Agent 0.22.5 or newer. New to Hermes? Install Hermes Agent first. Check your version with hermes --version and update with hermes update.
  • An AI connection in Hermes. The bot uses the one you already set up.
  • On a phone? The .zip saves to your phone (iPhone: the Files app, in Downloads; Android: the Downloads folder). Hermes installs bots from the Downloads folder of the computer it runs on, so download the bot on that computer, or move the .zip into its Downloads folder, then send the line below from the Hermes app.

First time? Install the Bot Installer

First time only. In the Terminal, run:

hermes skills install https://agentplaybooks.dev/skills/bot-installer/SKILL.md

Or type this in a Hermes chat: /skills install https://agentplaybooks.dev/skills/bot-installer/SKILL.md --yes. It installs one skill, bot-installer, from agentplaybooks.dev. Already have it? Update it with hermes skills update bot-installer. Or download bot-installer.zip (8 KB) to read it first.

  1. Download the bot. Download Tradbot as a .zip file. No need to unzip it. Download .zip (tradbot.zip, 22 KB)
  2. Tell Hermes:
Use bot-installer to install tradbot from the Downloads folder.

Optional add-ons

Tradbot works without these. Add one after the bot is installed, when you want it.

Google Calendar

Lets Tradbot read your Google Calendar directly for the family briefs, the pickup check and the kitchen table newspaper. Setup uses your own Google sign-in, and Tradbot never changes your calendar without asking.

  1. Install Tradbot first. Use the steps above.
  2. Download the add-on. Download .zip (tradbot-google-calendar.zip, 2 KB)
  3. In a Tradbot chat, tell Hermes:
Install the skill in tradbot-google-calendar.zip from my Downloads folder into this profile, then walk me through its setup.
