Tradbot: Family Email and Calendar Assistant Bot
Tradbot is a Hermes Agent bot for busy parents and households. It watches your personal email and calendar for the family admin that's easy to miss, and it never sends anything without you.
What does Tradbot do?
Tradbot reads personal email and calendar for school forms, family plans and RSVPs, bills and renewals, appointments and pickup. It surfaces only what needs you, drafts the reply or RSVP, and keeps a ledger of what's still owed. That ledger is the record, not the chat.
Which skills does it use?
- Family calendar briefs: the week or two ahead, new events, and what to prepare.
- Kitchen table newspaper: a printable one-page paper with the schedule on top, a cute weather strip, family news on the left and real news on the right.
- Monthly parent note: local events plus development and parenting notes matched to your kids' ages.
Who is Tradbot for?
It's for parents juggling school, activities and household bills. It isn't work email triage, a finance app or a general chatbot.
- Parents with kids in school and activities
- Households sharing pickup between caretakers
- Anyone who has missed a form or an RSVP
How do I set up Tradbot?
Getting started takes a few steps.
- Connect Gmail, or forward, paste or screenshot your week instead. Google Calendar is an optional add-on you install after the bot.
- Tell it your kids, schools, activities, pickup schedule and must-pay bills.
- Pick your digest hour (6:30 AM by default) and newspaper format, then say yes to the routines you want when it offers them.
- Approve the drafts it prepares for replies and RSVPs.
How would I use Tradbot?
Setup learns your kids' first names, ages and grades, their schools and activities, who does pickup each day, and the bills you never want to miss. Weekends stay quiet by default.
The weekday morning
One short digest of the household things that need you today. On a day with nothing, it stays quiet.
The pickup clash
Every weekday afternoon, a one-line check that pickup is covered, and the fix when it isn't.
Friday planning
The weekend preview covers the weekend and the week after, with the collisions, what to prepare and everything still owed.
What can I ask Tradbot?
Here are a few requests and the kind of answer you get back.
You: "What do I need to deal with today?"
Tradbot: A short list led by what needs you, each item with its source email or event.
You: "Draft the RSVP for that birthday party."
Tradbot: A ready-to-send RSVP, waiting for your yes.
You: "Who's on pickup Thursday?"
Tradbot: Thursday's pickup owner and time, or a flag if nobody's covering it.
What runs on a schedule, and what does it connect to?
Its routines give the week a rhythm, and the kitchen newspaper stays separate from your own digest. Nothing runs on a schedule unless you say yes: after setup it offers each routine once.
- Weekday family digest: every weekday morning.
- Afternoon pickup check: every weekday afternoon.
- Kitchen table newspaper: every weekday morning, printable.
- Weekend preview: Friday evenings.
- Monthly parent note: the first of each month.
Gmail is its default connection, and it can deliver to Slack. The optional Google Calendar add-on, installed after the bot, lets it read your calendar directly for the family briefs, the pickup check and the kitchen newspaper. It uses your own Google sign-in and never changes your calendar without asking. Family notes can live in Notion if you connect it.
